About Dominic Businaro

I'm a thirty year old web developer living in the Minneapolis- St. Paul metropolitan area. I've been building websites for over 15 years and I specialize in HTML/CSS front-ends and PHP/MySQL content management systems. Like most people, I started designing websites as a hobby and as my interest grew I decided to make it into my full-time profession. I taught myself web design by deconstructing the source code of existing web pages while creating my own site. Eventually I learned supporting languages such as Javascript and PHP in order to create user interfaces and database driven web applications.

How To Build Your Own Tablet For $400

“The Beagle tablet is a portable modular open source handheld computer,” says Justin Huynh, director of product development at Liquidware. “It’s all about customizability and embedded development.”

The BeagleBoard is a single board computer from Texas Instruments that comes with a 1 GHz processor. There’s also a battery module and a 4 GB pre-formatted SD card to boot Angstrom Linux. But users can also run the Android operating system on it, says Huynh.

With all these CSS3 effects and tutorials popping up every day that show all the new and wonderful things we can make happen, we sometimes forget about poor little old CSS2.1 and the great potential it still has.

iPad Hesitation

I’ll be the first to say that I’m not an Apple fanboy but I was really intrigued by the new iPad. After watching this episode of Diggnation it soon became clear to me why I won’t be getting an iPad myself… until they resolve some major issues.

1) Allow multitasking
2) Stop banning applications that conflict with your built-in features (Micro$oft got sued for similar tactics?)
3) Quit overcharging for your brand name
